Neighbours 77

The other sunday before last sunday we had a very insightful sunday sermon. The sermon was very personal. Our bishop always delivers his messages in a simplified form.Bishop Jimmy never dissapoints. The topic 'Expectation after prayer' was a continuation of the previous week.It was a call to christians to have faith..then hope.Believing that actually what we pray for will happen. The reading was an extract from the book of Acts 12:5-So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.(NIV).. .verse 12-15 When this had dawned on him, he went to the house of Mary the mother of John, also called Mark, where many people had gathered and were praying. Peter knocked at the outer entrance, and a servant named Rhoda came to answer the door. When she recognized Peterʼs voice, she was so overjoyed she ran back without opening it and exclaimed, “Peter is at the door!” “Youʼre out of your mind,” they told her. When she kept insisting that it was so, they said, “It must be his angel.”(NIV).Well I shared this because I feel as Christians there are things we need to remind ourselves,to always have faith when we pray. It's surprising that people are perplexed that God has actually answered their prayers, before you laugh at the above case in the book of Acts it represents what we at times find ourselves doing.Doubt.

We come from families, from diverse backgrounds...each person knows the strength or the weakness of their family, yet it is God who chooses that for us the family you belong to.We come from real families, they aren't perfect but we accept each other.God has strategically placed you there to bring that change so whenever you want something changed remember you are the agent of change. It is a place to learn too.The learning is in many packages. We learn the easy way,the hard way and the fun way. There are normal families, broken families, incomplete families..but God somehow gives us grace through each.

I sneaked out of the city during the weekend.Home.It's slightly above 6hours from the city.Parents feel good when you visit them. The feeling is mutual. This is the same way we felt when they visited us back in high school.Apart from feeling good there was a financial benefit attached and the chapatis;if your mum came.

Sunday after church I went back home to find my aunt.Aunty Jane. She isn't my first aunt but she has always been close to us.I know her well. She is a sanguine I guess...no,maybe choleric. There are those people who don't beat around the bush when they have questions, she's that type.I was very much aware of that.I prepared myself for any questions. You all know questions that the aunt is suppossed to ask.The same way the Public Accounts Committee asks how money has been spend in Ministries. We were conversing here and there on selected topics.I was like "Aunty haukuja graduation yangu".She tried to explain why.I found myself in the phone gallery"Ebu ona photos za graduation.."Who doesn't want his aunt to say she is proud of them.We flipped through and through until the graduation photos were over then those other photos..in suits,tshirts..etc.I heard aunty say"Na wapi ya darling"...hehe.I pretended like I didn't get the question, but I knew it would have come up.Be sure I used the Ilara milk advert strategy to dodge the question.I was like"..By the way aunty hatujapigwa picha na wewe..".She was 'eeeh ebu twende huko nje".Yay.I won. This is how you appreciate that your phone's has a two digit figure megapixel. We took tens of photos..even selfies(I won't show you selfies hehe).

Now I know you are still waiting for my supposed answer to my aunt's question.Endelea kungoja..hii mambo ni ya last month..Happy New month,it's already 2nd March
