Neighbours 64

I happened to find this photo right here from the inter-webs.That's(the name of the place) where I went for my high school education. The school acquired this bus when I was in my fourth year there. We used to call ourselves living masters(form fours). Before this new bus we had a very strong bus(read:lorry),we loved it and hated it in equal measure, why?,we loved it because it would never get stuck even in the worst impassable roads, then it was all we had for transport..we could do anything to be it's guest during school trips. We hated it simply because of P.R ,'our girl school' had a scania man!,you get the drift.Ego.Other boys' schools had better buses too.Boys are just boys.Nevertheless we had a cool driver(r.i.p) Manywele,he was a middle aged man but understood well what teenagers wanted. He would somehow park 'mkwanja' elsewhere to safeguard us from our insecurities as teenagers.

The day our new bus was bought ,it was a great day.. rice was served,yes.. rice beef..this delicacy was served on special occassions only.Githeri would be placed in for some lunch days(otherwwise it was ugali),we ate weevils..in there,at times you tested paraffin in negligible amounts for reasons we've have ever heard that we were teenagers and bla bla bla bla,I will not explain anything here.Thank God for avocado, yaani God created avocado then other fruits..lol.I don't want to talk about how cabbages and kales leaves were cut.You could even find a whole leaf in your soup,a leaf you can use to hide your entire face.Yet still we enjoyed this high school life. That did not even stop us from understanding the cathode ray tube,The mole concept,Agrarian revolution and calculating longitudes and latitudes. It's amazing how God gives us grace for different seasons right?,We campaigned for trips, succeeded in some, failed in others.

Back to our bus story I still remember the excitement we had receiving the new KAV 082E,we felt in our hearts as though this event was being televised nationally right from the point the bus left Central Farmers garage-Kitale,it would trend, thank God nothing trended then but we had 'simu ya jamii'...lol.
So teenagers, this was to kindly tell you life changes alot, always enjoy responsibly knowing someone else will need the same resources.I've seen hundreds of school buses whose names i can't even pronounce and they don't even move me,I wonder what was the fuss about this whole bus story,i keep quiet and say I should look for a wife and marry perhaps and tell you how parenting is....lol,nimeenda na huko...again I have a national identity card that is in black and white, bye for now.

Yours sincerely
