Neighbours 76

Thika again.Thika is to pineapple as Kericho is to tea.When someone travels to Kisumu you dont ask them to bring you coconut..no,something must be wrong with you..you just say fish without even overthinking.The letter 'I' in the name kitale is artistically replaced by an image of maize on a cob.The list is long I won't even go into details of Kinangop with potatoes(waru).I run out of fingers counting towns like Mwea,Mumias,Kisii..which have signature products to their name.I just cannot avoid to mention Eldoret the home of champions and the mursik.

In other matters yesterday while walking home from Trm I caught up with a drunk guy.He was slightly in front of me..it was abit dark.He kept looking behind from time to time.He was afraid..hehe,I think his imagination was telling him someone is after him.He waited for me.He greeted me by the hand an said "Ndugu yangu..mimi sina ubaya...naenda nyumbani,najua ata wewe unaenda nyumbani...haunijui na sikujua..".I was in good moods so I gave him company somehow.He would start conversations here and there like.."Wewe ni wa hio kanisa....pointing at a nearby church",I would say no.He continued "Mimi sio police lakini niko na enough intelligence...najua wezi wote na wakora wa zimmerman"..hehe.I would listen and prompt him to continue.He kept the conversation until we parted.As I took a detour to head home I remembered the words dad used to tell us while we were growing up"Mimi sipendi watu watatu...Mwizi,muongo na mlevi".It takes God to steer clear of these worldly pleasures.In the begining of our supposed conversation he had told me that he drank because he is very stressed,he wants to forget everything bothering him.My heart was abit heavy because maybe he was going back to a family.I imagine how he will interact with his young boy.It's sad for the family where he is the the head of the home,that means most decisions are postponed.It's my prayer that this man get's to meet Jesus and his life turns around.

My new neighbour is a tall light guy,with a heavy voice.We got to interact when my main switch tripped and my house had an exclusive blackout.He helped me locate my switch from the switch board and turn it on.I really dont understand why at times it is the problems that unite us.It happens even when you are on a bus,if the bus develops a mechanical problem you will find yourself starting a conversation with your neighbour..

The long awaited good news is here,our cat was seen yesterday around the neighbourhood.I hope it comes home now.The prodigal cat should know that we don't have anything against it and we are ready to receive it back home.Unfortunately cats dont read we would have written a note to our cat.
