Thika Town
I happened to have some extra official activities today,I went to Thika with two of my friends.Thika town is slow..even how the say tao_ni(town),like they are two words.Pineapples.Fruits...and more fruits. If you are a Nairobian you will wonder who pressed the slow motion button.I wondered how 'real mathrees' even mind to stop at a zebra crossing.I looked twice..I thought to myself 'Time is money' especially for Umoiner and their cousins Hannover Trans.

Well..we were visiting the subcounty cooperative society office. We were at her office at around 11.00am.She served us well. She is so graced for the office. You know those mamas who handle people as well as they would to their children. It was so nice.I don't know if it's just me but I always note how Merus can sustain stories...hehe..."Mungu atawasaidia tu.." she would encourage us.."niko na wenzenu ,kama nyingi huko nyumbani..naelewa".It's so great how mothers understand young people with their myriads of challenges. She made my day.

After a successful day we had to bite a fruit atleast. We did that.Watermelons.I didn't partake of them..I kinda have a strained relationship with watermelons.I have a phone running on android but I didn't mind an apple.

It was time to board 'manchester travellers'..don't forget am an arsenal fan.Wait, they said 'wanne wa haraka',but four is a dear number to our team.We got in.Later on entered a hawker..a luo lady.Hehe..luo is a software. She was selling p.k.A luo accent is like a mercedes benz's sign..it can't be hidden. But that's not the point. After a short while two school boys entered the bus. They had uniforms from different shools. There were allegations that one boy had pick-pocketed the other one's phone.I saw him remove the phone from his undergament from a sagged trouser and gave it back. The lady hawker too saw the odeal. The difference is how she started narrating the story. She sounded like a chief magistrate."Wizi ni mbaya, mimi nimeona akitoa simu kwa 'costume'(undergament)..kwa nini anachukua simu ya mwenzake!"she explained. But she repeated this statement close to five times insisting the 'constume' part. This was a vocabulary she couldn't avoid to mention. Then a preacher entered the bus,Pastor Njoroge. The hawker was still explaining, but it was time for a sermon. He intervened. The hawker was like'kwanza ombea huyu..anaiba simu..ako na dhambi mingi..',hehe Luo is a software.Later it was calm and pastor Njoroge preached..even the intense heat could not deter him.

As we left Thika I looked outside the window and for once I appreciated so much. You will see so many businesses, from corporates, shoe shiners, those who roast maize, those who sell sugarcane on a wheelbarrow with a big tyre..name them. They all wake up and enjoy what they do.They are HOPEFUL that their clients/customers will show up.There is a priceless gift we have as Kenyans,it's called PEACE.It left me thinking. We have so much to thank God for.

So as you go through life always pause for a moment and thank God.
In other unrelated matters have you noticed when you go to the butchery now you are easily refered to as boss/mzito..it's January, did you note that also if you visit 'watu wa mboga' you will be addressed as weeh!,well it's January..well,demand is higher for the later infact people have put aside the 'greens' tag they called it in December..now they confidently refer to it as 'sukuma wiki' hehe.

Have a splendid 57th of January
