It's deliberate that the christmas event was not covered
in the previous episode. That does not in anyway indicate that there was
nothing. To begin with we procured a new jiko on the 24th,yes so we
didn't use our neighbour's one without permission. In every business
there is a language used.In the transport industry we all know of the
''wawili wa haraka'' line, and understand that there is limited
truth(lies) it.With the jiko seller against three guys(bachelors) business
had to be transacted. We had absolutely zero expertise with jiko sizes
and other specs. For the first time I heard there is size 12jiko(maybe
that's the diameter).''Hii inapendwa sana na kina mama'' the trader
noted.Well, that didn't lure us..I guess we were some kind of indifferent
customer(s).We bought one jiko because Christmas had to be
celebrated.
After church we set on the cooking spree, with two main chefs(si mnanijua),one support chef and a senior support staff(mtu wa kuwasha jiko, kuleta chumvi). With such lofty titles I know nobody will throw stones at me. The beauty of the celebration is the trying out of few skills which our support chef googles.Having served longer in the chicken preparation department and always trusted there like Matiang'i in education. This time there was no fraud with the 8 chicken necks packed with two chicken. There was one problem, one chicken was soft while the other was 'difficult' hehe...like those cakes in the k.u kitchens.Investigations are underway to get to the bottom of that matter.
Being close friends we enjoyed ourselves as we prepared the meals.Kingosh was reminding us of the day he took a girl on a date at Blue springs hotel. The date was good, they enjoyed, there was swimming too.It was fun,who doesn't love fun.The fun was funded with a little of what remains from the HELB loan after paying fees. It's called semester survival peanuts,he used them on fun.Well we laughed at how he was explaining how that semester was.It was difficult. The date never 'prospered' it remained just that a date, and as Kenyans would say ''sahii huyo dame aliolewa na msee mwingine kitambo''.The good thing about that story is that we've learnt so much and Kingosh is wiser enough now to be laughing at his former younger self.I will not even try to talk of peoples campus adventures to Ngong hostels..hehe,and brothers who finished their 'sisters' uji and food in Nyayo one and Arberdares..Mungu anawaona sana
Thank God this week is over, nobody has to ask me again ''yaani hamkufunga job kwenu''yes, neighbours 70 was a good number to close the year with now
