Recently there have been many graduation ceremonies.Leave alone those of
colleges and Universities, those of the young fellows from pre-unit to
class one.Am not going to take sides whether i support them or not.It
reminded me...long long ago(after wahenga),we never had those
ceremonies. We had a report book. The graduation part was ''You have been
promoted to class one''.It was so much joy as you would go home feeling
good how the following year you will be staying
in school for an extra hour, with no porridge.Unfortunately our school
never had porridge. That is the reason why I have never liked it,I bet I
never ever tasted the incomparable uji at culture village.I have a
confession.I know abit of stuff,at some point in my life I was a
catholic,am acquainted with that.I once sneaked out of school while in
nursery.It was break time,I had a friend(read:bad company).He convinced
me.He was loosely referred to as 'boi'.He even gave me a reason that I
would use as an excuse. We clearly were to say we've been sent home to
shave our hair.Unfortunately nursery school teachers were devolved long
ago, they were employed by county council. My teacher was our neighbour at
home. That was not scaring. The only scaring thing was if P.J knew I
sneaked.P.J is my dad, that's how we used to(still) refer to him in his
absence. His jurisdiction extended even to my cousins. He could
prosecute, charge you and even carry out the punishment. His punishment
did not include cutting trees etc,his was whipping...thoroughly.Am glad
upto today he has never known of that sneaking. After that incident(mum
knew),my friendship with boi ended.Mum had enough evidence to 'fix'
me....thank God am a last-born...hehe.She kept quiet with it.
Apparently I was thinking of my fellow peeps who live on the ground floor. They are a worried lot, with these elnino trends .There is a minority group, those who live on the highest floor.I had a friend complaining of a leaking house. They suffer silently with drenched sofa sets, they aren't sure if the water drops will visit the bedroom.Gravity does its job. This means everyone has challenges, they only vary.
Finally, breaking news..confirmed reports indicate our cat is back safe and sound.I saw it severally on Saturday.I think it had went somewhere for 'peace keeping' mission. Our cat is very important,we never think of rats. There is a friend of mine in Komarock called Mike.He had rats which literaly gave him sleepless nights, they behaved as alshabab or worse still ISIS.They made dangerous turns on the ceiling, fell down,'screamed' etc.My house had a young rat but what that rat did with paperbags proves that radicalization is real.Fortunately my friend assassinated it..As per now we have two cats, our 'official' resident cat,and another tail-less I.D.C ( Internally Displaced Cat)where that cat lost its tail is yet just another complicated case...our further investigation will try to unearth the mystery.
Enjoy your week
